You:
When students are tired after a full day of school, you are there to make a difference in their day. While you are supervising a big group of students, you are the kind of person that can still make our students feel heard and give them the attention that they require. You never do this alone, because on any given day, you have 1 or more colleagues with you that are there to help. Needless to say, you like to work in a team. You also love to organize: planning fun activities for the day and seeing them through is what gives you a feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day. Additionally you:
- have a Teacher certificate or a diploma which allows you to work with children (in Dutch system SPW3 or SPW4, SPH or equivalent), please add this link for a Dutch diploma check
- have knowledge of First Aid which is an asset, This can be removed
- are familiar with general concepts of child growth and development (emphasis on social, emotional, and physical development) in order to plan and supervise children in an after school setting.
The Role:
Our After School Care program, called Croco Club, consists of a team of staff members: After School Care Practitioners and one After School Care Coordinator. Throughout this school year we are seeking Substitute After School Care Practitioners who are flexible in their availability: in the afternoons during school weeks (generally between 2.30-6.30pm) and whole days during school holidays and during the absence of staff members due to illness, personal leave, or other reasons.

As Substitute After School Care Practitioner, you supervise the After School Care students aged 3 to 14. Additionally you:
- organize activities focused on development in and outside of the location,
- maintain contact with parents and teachers when needed,
- help to set up, clean up and close down the After School Care premise.
Additional Information
*Please note that the qualifications to work in Childcare in The Netherlands are very strict. Foreign applicants need to have their credentials/diplomas verified by either DUO (EU citizens) or IDW (non-EU citizens). Maybe add this to the first bullet point under 'You'.
Successful candidates will be placed on the After School Care sub list. When a Substitute After School Care Practitioner is needed, the After School Care Coordinator will call as far in advance as possible. Please note that it is usually not possible to give a lot of notice; it is usually a few days or less. Therefore, flexibility is the key to success in substituting regularly at our After School Care. Substituting at After School Care is not a contracted position for the school, so candidates must demonstrate their legal eligibility for work.
