American School of The Hague (ASH) is looking for a part-time (40%) High School Student Support Teaching Assistant.

Start Date: September 1, 2024.

Location: Wassenaar, on the north side of The Hague
Language Skills: Fluent English is Essential

You are a High School Student Support Teaching Assistant. You preferably have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent university degree. You have at least two years of experience in administration in an American or international school. You have a solid background in technology; you see IT as an enabler for you.

In addition you;

  • Understand and embrace an inclusive international school environment,
  • Possess a respectful and patient attitude toward students,
  • Respect the cultural differences of international families,
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, parents, and other team members,
  • Support diversity, equity and inclusion,
  • Maintain confidentiality of information relating to the school and students.

The Role: Under the supervision of the Student Support Director, the High School Student Teaching Assistant’s primary responsibility is to manage the provision of accommodations for identified students in High School.
The High School Student Teaching Assistant will also perform clerical tasks related to the assignment.

The Work: As a High School Student Support Teaching Assistant, you manage accommodations for students in G9-12. You maintain confidentiality of information relating to the school and students.

In addition you;

  • Develop a supportive relationship with students,
  • Manage individual and small group accommodations for students under the guidance of the student support team and mainstream classroom teachers,
  • Support the exams officer with scheduling and provision of accommodations for students,
  • Support the team with tasks related to accommodation management,
  • Monitor and document efficacy of accommodations and student usage,
  • Update as needed and makes effective use of PowerSchool Special Programs student management system,
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Student Support Director.
