The Opportunity
We are seeking an analytical, passionate and seasoned business controller who can translate financial and operational data into actionable business insights. A strategic partner for our business and accounting team, bridging the gap between financial reporting and decision making. As such, you will work closely with other financial colleagues and business stakeholders.
The Business Controller role will have an international focus, working within a central finance team in Rotterdam.
Your role as a Business Controller at Youwe
As business controller, you will be responsible for the coordination of the budgeting and planning processes within the organization. You act as a strategic partner for our business, delivering top-notch management reports, actionable insights and crisp recommendations for our management.
The Youwe Business Controller is responsible for overseeing the performance and risk profile of our customer and internal projects, and will act as a controlling function with respect to the month- and year-end reporting processes (e.g. UK, Sweden, Ukraine).

- Provide in-depth and crisp analysis to management, regarding the performance and potential risks of service lines and companies.
- Manage the budget and financial planning process.
- Control the accurateness, completeness and timeliness of customer contract data administration, ensuring accurate, complete and timely billing to our customers.
- Monitor and controlling the monthly revenue taking process based on actual hours worked.
- Manage the project performance and risk management process related to our “customer” and “internal” projects, ensuring one financial “truth”.
- Control and manage the Capex investment process.
- Support the coordination and management of the Dutch WBSO and innovation box processes.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- In partnership with Accounting, manage the continuous development of internal controls, policies and procedures, including being compliant to external regulations.
- Contribute to the companies Governance, Compliance and Risk processes.
- Own and manage the Youwe Transfer Pricing policy.
- Support ad-hoc analysis work (e.g for shareholders and banks) and business cases
- Support cost monitoring and reduction programs.
- Drive continuous improvements and automation within our ERP Workday “eco-system” and Business Intelligence environment (e.g. Reporting and KPI framework).
What You Bring
- Master’s degree in finance, Accounting & Controlling or a related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g. RC, RA, CPA, CMA).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence across functions.
- Proven working experience (6+ years) as a Financial/Business Controller, within a similar environment
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and tax laws.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (Workday is a pre).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- You have a passion for finance and technology, thrive in a boutique technology company with an international vibe.
- High attention to detail, with a strategic mindset and proactive approach; You have a keen eye for detail and recognize discrepancies and patterns in complex amounts of information. You notice issues, chart them in detail, make analyses and draw findings and conclusions from these.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, ERP (e.g. Workday, SAP) and Performance Management /BI (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) systems.
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
