The Youth Peace Initiative (YPI) is an initiative set up by young professionals to foster the meaningful participation of young people in peace processes. Over the past years, YPI has been organizing many activities such as workshops, training programs, and panel discussions to empower youth to engage in peace processes. The main focus lies on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. YPI has organized conferences in The Hague in 2014, 2016, and 2018, and the Young Leadership Experience in 2019, 2020, and 2021. YPI has, furthermore, been involved with several other activities. In 2017, YPI worked closely with a group of young Syrians on the "Futures of Syria" project. In 2018 and 2021, YPI collaborated with the Carnegie Foundation, UNOY Peacebuilders, and the World Class The Hague Programme on the Youth Carnegie Peace Prize to highlight outstanding initiatives of young peacebuilders worldwide. Next to the involvement in these projects, YPI also launched a podcast, Youth Peace Talks, and organized several online events such as panel discussions and webinars together with its partners. Our vision and mission: We envision a world in which youth is recognized and included as a partner, and engages in peace and reconciliation processes, contributing to achieving and maintaining sustainable peace. We constantly work towards this vision by facilitating dialogue, knowledge, and capacity-building initiatives that connect and empower youth to be positive change-makers who advance sustainable peace.
