Site Piping / Mechanical Inspector
Worley is seeking a Site Piping Mechanical Inspector/Engineer with + 10 years relevant project experience to work on our project in Lingen, Germany (full time). For this position German speaking is preferred. Job requires knowledge of manufacturing standards / codes such as ASME/PED/EN 1090, etc. the Piping Mechanical Inspector /Engineer will be in the lead for the prefab locations of pipe spools and steel structure as well as at Site for the installation of prefabricated pipe spools and steel structure quality and be part of the overall quality team for this project.
The Piping mechanical Inspector/engineer is responsible for monitor and inspect the pre-fabrication and construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards. The Piping mechanical Inspector/engineer works closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to verify quality and progress throughout all phases of a project.
The Piping mechanical Inspector/engineer key responsibilities are:
· Prefab Inspections: Conduct weekly prefab inspection visit to monitor ongoing pre-fabrication activities, ensuring adherence to design drawings, technical specifications, client specification, National law and regulation and issue status reports.
· Site Inspections: Conduct daily site inspections to monitor ongoing construction activities, ensuring adherence to design drawings, technical specifications, client specification, National law and regulation.
· Quality Control: Ensure that materials and workmanship meet quality standards and project requirements.
· Compliance Monitoring: Check that construction practices comply with local, regional, and national codes and regulations.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, progress reports, and non-compliance issues.
· Testing: Ensure that applicable material testing (e.g., concrete, soil, asphalt) is conducted and review lab test reports.
· Issue Reporting: Identify and report deficiencies, deviations, or safety violations, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
· Communication: Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to resolve on-site issues and clarify requirements.
· Coordination: Assist in review of drawings, change orders, and contractor submittals.
· Safety Monitoring: Support implementation of site safety protocols and practices.
· Education: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Technology or a related field.
· Experience: 10 years of experience in piping & mechanical construction inspection in prefab and construction/project sites.
· Knowledge of standards & Codes, e.g. ASME / EN / PED, German construction law
· EWE / EWT certification
· VT EN9712 certification
· NDE (MPE, LPE, UT, RT, TOFD, etc) certification / experience
Prefab and Site Piping mechanical inspector/engineer shall as a minimum have skill on:
· Construction Methods & Materials: In-depth knowledge of prefab / construction processes, including NDE, Welding, testing of piping systems and steel structures.
· Drawing & Specification Interpretation: Ability to accurately read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents.
· Quality Assurance & Control: Proficiency in conducting inspections, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
· Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with local and federal building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
· Technical Reporting: Skill in preparing detailed inspection reports, documenting non-conformities, and recommending corrective actions.
Prefab and Site Piping mechanical inspector/Engineer shall as a minimum have skill on:
· Proficiency in conducting inspections, documenting findings (review of site contractor construction documentation such as but not limited to: ITP, test reports, procedures, etc), and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
· Skill in preparing detailed inspection reports, documenting non-conformities, and recommending corrective actions.
· Providing direction for the (site) team.
· Be updated on the latest technology and methods to work efficient, accurate and productive for the department.
· Can work as an efficient team member with project management, contractors and other disciplines, both within Worley and that of the client/Prefab – Site contractors.
· Good communication and co-ordination skills (both verbal and written).
· Demonstrate a pro-active and pragmatic mentality.
· Experience in work cooperation with remote offices (work sharing concept).
· Real team player (within the QA/QC team and cooperation with other departments).
· Takes ownership of the scope, budget and schedule.
· Candidate can work independently and reports to Project QA/QC Manager.

· Education: Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
· Experience in the areas of Prefab and Site Quality Assurance and Control +10 years
· Fluency in English language / German language strongly preferred.
