THE POSITION
As a Second Officer on our Water Injection Dredgers, you play a key role in keeping vessel and dredging operations safe, efficient and on track. You support the Captain and Chief Officer with navigation, positioning and bridge watchkeeping while actively contributing to the execution of dredging activities. Working in a highly automated environment, you combine nautical expertise with a practical mindset and collaborate closely with colleagues on deck and on the bridge. Together, you help deliver reliable results on every project.

As part of a small crew, you take responsibility across a range of activities and work closely with your colleagues to keep operations running smoothly. You work on board one of our highly automated water injection vessels. You are part of a small team of 5 to 7 crew members and work in 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off rotation. The environment is dynamic and international, focused on technical excellence. You operate and optimise modern computer controlled dredging systems and advanced automation technology. - Maintaining a safe and efficient bridge watch in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures
- Supporting the Captain and Chief Officer with navigation and vessel positioning
- Assisting with and monitoring the water injection process to achieve optimal operational performance
- Preparing and coordinating deck activities during your watch
- Recording operational data and preparing accurate reports
- Working closely with the crew to support safe and efficient vessel operations

- Valid Certificate of Competency Officer of the Watch (STCW II/1) and associated certificates
- Preferably experience within the dredging, offshore or maritime sector
- Affinity with operational processes and automated systems
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Proactive, safety conscious and able to respond effectively to changing situations
- Experience with Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems is an advantage but not required. Our WID vessels are equipped with DP, giving you the opportunity to gain basic DP knowledge on board
