The position is located in the Partnerships Communications Unit, within the Public Engagement Section of the Communications Branch of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies. OCHA also ensures there is a framework within which each actor can contribute to the overall response efforts. OCHA's mission is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors in order to alleviate human suffering in disasters and emergencies; advocate the rights of people in need; promote preparedness and prevention and facilitate sustainable solutions. The Associate Communications Officer/Content Creator is responsible for supporting the development and the execution of communication strategies to promote and help deliver on the organization's advocacy, visibility and fundraising objectives and outcomes. The Associate Communications Officer/Content Creator is responsible for conducting a wide range of tasks. Depending on the organizational setting, these may include implementing communications strategies, monitoring, digital campaigns and analytics, internal communications, outreach, and advocacy. This position-specific job opening is being advertised for the position of Associate Communications Officer/Content Creator in the Hague, in the Netherlands. Under the overall supervision of the Chief of the Public Engagement Section, OCHA in the Netherlands, the incumbent reports to the head of the Partnerships Communications Unit.
