Job purpose

Part of the global People Experience team, Global Mobility (GM) is dedicated to supporting Unilever’s global talent strategy and driving sustainable growth through a resilient and future-fit Global Mobility programme, with employee experience at the heart of everything we do.

In the role of Global Mobility Partner, you will collaborate with HR Business Partners and line managers to enable international talent movement. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end assignment/transfer process, directly impacting the employee experience of your Unilever colleagues during a significant milestone in their professional and personal lives. You will work closely with internal regional teams, the wider GM team globally, and with external strategic partners to deliver exceptional employee experience.

This vacancy is within the Europe GM team, which is responsible for assignments and transfers inbound to, or within, Europe. Key responsibilities

  • Serve as primary advisor and in-region support for business and HR stakeholders, ensuring that global mobility solutions are aligned with talent needs, timelines and compliance requirements

  • Evaluate the suitability of assignment types (short-term, long-term, permanent transfers) and policy types to meet both employee development and business objectives

  • Support the talent agenda by providing early-stage inputs into hiring and resourcing decisions for international assignments supporting talent planning and workforce strategy execution

  • Leverage deep knowledge of local employment laws, immigration regulations, cultural nuances, and market practices to ensure efficient regional mobility planning

  • Drive regional consistency with global policies and processes, with a strong focus on data integrity and compliance

  • Oversee the assignee experience throughout the overall assignment lifecycle, ensuring smooth collaboration between all parties

  • Responsible for responding to initial cost estimate queries from the business and for explaining compensation packages to assignees

  • Responsible for local execution of vendor management at market level, such as day-to-day coordination, query handling and issue resolution

  • Global Mobility Expertise: Solid technical knowledge across global mobility, tax, immigration, and/or relocation services, with strong understanding of compliance and policy application.

  • Advisory & Problem-Solving: Ability to provide pragmatic solutions, demonstrate agility, and tackle complex challenges with critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Talent Alignment & Strategic Thinking: Skilled at aligning mobility strategies with talent objectives and organisational goals.

  • Stakeholder Management & Customer Focus: Excellent partnering skills, adept at handling sensitive conversations, and committed to delivering a high-quality employee experience.

  • Communication & Cultural Awareness: Clear and effective communicator with high emotional intelligence, empathy, and cross-cultural awareness.

  • Technology & Organisation: Tech-savvy with strong presentation skills, adept at managing projects and balancing competing priorities effectively within a virtual team environment.

Experience

  • Proven experience managing diverse assignment and transfer types as an in-house Global Mobility Advisor or equivalent role.

  • In-depth understanding of global mobility service provision, through experience working with or for a tax/immigration service provider, relocation management company, or destination service provider.

  • Strong track record of partnering with senior stakeholders.

  • Comprehensive understanding of HR systems and processes, including assignment management systems, global mobility policy frameworks, expatriate compensation, and coordination with third-party providers.

  • Broad knowledge of employment laws and regulations globally, and particularly in the Netherlands.
