TotalEnergies is a leading international player in the energy market. Since 1964, the Exploration & Production division in the Netherlands (TEPNL) has been engaged in gas extraction in the North Sea from unmanned satellites, platforms, and subsea production facilities. Alongside this, we are actively engaged in the ARAMIS project, which seeks to develop a new CO2 transportation infrastructure for offshore CO2 storage.
The Barrel Boosting & Geoscience team (BBG) within the Development, Engineering & Projects Division is a multiskilled team at the forefront of innovation in finding solutions to produce the last cubic meters of gas and in parallel prepare the depleted fields of TotalEnergies for the storage of CO2.

We are looking for a Senior Reservoir Engineer who will also act as the subsurface lead for our Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) project. You will collaborate with team members being the geophysicists, geologists, reservoir and well performance engineers, completion engineers and process engineer. You will report to the BBG manager and functionally, you work for the CCS team and report functionally to the CCS manager.

Your responsibilities
You will act as TEPNL focal point for internal and external stakeholders on CCS subsurface related matters. And you will also perform and coordinate the necessary subsurface work to progress the CCS project for one of our fields to FID stage in 2026. You will be accountable for precision and correctness of the delivered data. Innovation is key to our success, and you are expected to seek new opportunities, both conventional and non-conventional.
What exactly are you going to do?
Act as TEPNL CCS focal point on geoscience & reservoir related topics for external stakeholders such as partners, authorities, service providers, knowledge centers and universities. And internal stakeholders such as the FEED Project team, Drilling & Wells, Operations and Headquarters.
Provide subsurface coordination support to the subsurface managers for the CCS activities on the CCS store development, that include but are not limited to the following:
- Storage License Application and approval.
- Implementation and updates of Storage Management Plan, Monitoring Plan and Uncertainty box ownership.
- Support coordination on various Monitoring Baseline acquisitions.
- Follow up on SMP cost estimation updates and requests for information and support calls for tender during the FEED stage.
- Coordinate support on Well Statement of Requirement process on CO2 injectors, monitoring well and well abandonment.
Support CCS new business development opportunities.
Actively participates in reviewing of the geoscience and reservoir part of new Storage License Applications.
Prepares and presents at internal peer reviews, technical workshops, and relevant committees. Contributes to the improvement of the competencies, the sharing of experience and the know-how of the company.
The ideal candidate
Pro-active, good communicator (verbal & written). Excellent team player. Proven track record of internal/external stakeholder management experience on complicated projects. Proven ability to work well across various disciplines, various teams and various locations involved in multi-disciplinary multinational project. Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic changing environment..
Your skills
Minimum of MSc in Petroleum Engineering, or other relevant technical study.
Minimum 15 years of experience across the various development stages of oil and gas fields.
Recent hands-on experience as a senior or lead reservoir engineer
Good understanding of upstream operations from reservoir to facilities.
Experience with Oil & Gas or CCS development projects.
Fluent in English, Dutch is an advantage.
