About the Role
As a Community & Campus Development Intern, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the daily experience of our members from their first visit to their continued engagement as part of our growing ecosystem. You’ll support the Hub team in both community engagement and sales-related processes, helping organisations navigate their membership journey and making sure every encounter at the Hub reflects our welcoming and collaborative spirit.
You’ll work closely with the Campus and Programming teams to strengthen the use of our campus as a hub for collaboration, and to connect people, ideas, and opportunities within the peace and justice ecosystem of The Hague.
Your General Responsibilities
Together with the team, you will:
- Engage with members daily: Welcome newcomers, facilitate introductions, and help connect them with relevant people, spaces, and opportunities within the Hub.
- Support the membership journey: From onboarding new members to collecting feedback and helping improve how we present and deliver our services.
- Co-organize and host community events: Help run our signature gatherings like Community Drinks, Democracy Drinks, Fireside Peace Chats, and ad hoc member collaborations.
- Facilitate tours and visits: Represent the Hub to external visitors and delegations, showcasing our community and services.
- Contribute to sales and outreach: Assist in identifying and following up with prospective members, organisations, and delegations interested in the Hub’s membership and residency options. This includes market research as well reaching out to potential partners, members, and collaborators in the peace and justice ecosystem.

What you bring
- A genuine interest in the Humanity Hub’s community of changemakers towards a more peaceful and just world.
- Affinity and some experience with project management and event organisation.
- A curious, friendly personality with the ability to stay calm, responsive and solution oriented.
- You are punctual, well-organized, proactive and can multi-task.
- A flexible, can-do attitude, ready to jump between tasks and help where needed, and suggest improvements.
- You are fluent in English and can (ideally) communicate in Dutch. Dutch speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication skills, in writing and verbally.
- You can work independently and collaborate within a team. You welcome feedback and use it to improve and learn.
- Available for flexible working hours to support events as required.
Requirements
- You are studying/have studied a degree in a relevant field (for example, but not limited to: International Relations, Political Sciences, Public Relations, Business Management & Development, Development Studies).[Monica Co2]
- You are legally allowed to do an internship in the Netherlands (linked to your university or not).
- You are living in, or near, The Hague. The Hub unfortunately cannot cover transportation costs to & from work.
- You can work 4 days per week (32 hours)
- You are available for the entire duration of the internship.
