Position: Junior Project Officer (Internship) – Connection Platform
The Hub is looking for an intern to support the development and implementation of its connection platform activities, all while delivering invaluable support to the Hub members and visitors to the Hub and to The Hague. This internship role will work across cross-sectoral projects and support the development of the Hub’s campus services and activities targeting members, professionals in the community of peace and justice of The Hague, international delegations and more.
Your General Responsibilities
As the junior project officer, you will play an essential role in supporting the Programming and Community Development teams. Reporting to and working closely with the Community Programming Manager, you will help drive our programming and community-building efforts aimed at empowering changemakers and brokering connections for amplified impact in the peace and justice ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include:
Ecosystem Mapping and Navigation
- Co-lead the mapping of organizations and individuals in The Hague’s peace and justice ecosystem and support the maintenance of the Hub-wide database.
- Co-develop a user-friendly ecosystem overview and member directory.
- Build and manage relationships with humanity Hub members regarding their visibility on the Hub’s website.
- Contribute to visual overviews and dashboards showing connections, themes, and activities across the ecosystem.
- Serve as a bridge and natural connector across community building and programming activities.
- Co-lead the development of a Connection to Expertise framework by mapping expertise available in the ecosystem and identifying opportunities to connect community needs to the available expertise.
Community Survey and Research Activities
- Conduct short-term and focused research activities on thematic relevant to the community.
- Support the design and implementation of community surveys and other knowledge production activities.
- Assist with data collection and analysis, and support team training to ensure information is centralized and accessible.
- Support investigation and exploration of digital community platforms. Communication
Community Development and Collaboration Support
- Assisting in creating opportunities for community members to connect, collaborate, and exchange knowledge.
- Collaborating with other departments at the Hub, such as communications and campus teams, to support the promotion and delivery of programming activities.
Representation and Networking
- Representing and presenting the Humanity Hub at external and partner events.
- Assisting in business development and fundraising efforts related to different initiatives, as needed.
- Ad hoc support with membership development and sales.

A flexible, can-do attitude, ready to jump between tasks and help where needed, and suggest improvements. - Ideally you have experience with event management and facilitation.
- You are fluent in English and can (ideally) communicate in Dutch. Dutch speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication skills, in writing and verbally.
- You can work independently and collaborate within a team. You welcome feedback and use it to improve and learn.
- Available for flexible working hours to support events as required.
Requirements
- You are studying/have studied a degree in a relevant field (for example, but not limited to: Development Studies, International Relations, International Law, Political Science, European Studies, Public Relations, Communication, Business Management).
- You are legally allowed to do an internship in the Netherlands.
- You are living in, or near, The Hague.
- You must be able to work at least 4 days per week (32 hours).
- You must be available for the entire duration of the internship (March-end of August 2026).
