Telespazio Belgium has an on‑site service at ESTEC in the Netherlands, and we are looking for a highly skilled Quantum Communications Mission Support Engineer to work there. The EuroQCI Programme is seeking a technically skilled professional to support the Mission Advisory Board (MAB) with high‑quality technical analysis and documentation. This role focuses exclusively on technical advisory activities.

Candidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administration

What is expected from you:

  • Analyse technical documentation related to EuroQCI (quantum communication, secure systems, space & ground segment technologies).
  • Contribute technical content for MAB briefing materials, background documents, and decision‑support notes.
  • Consolidate and synthesise technical inputs from ESA, EC, Member States and industry stakeholders
  • Ensure coherence, traceability, and structure of technical contributions used in MAB reviews.
  • Produce high‑quality technical memoranda, assessments, and preparatory documentation.
  • Support ESA technical teams in structuring and presenting complex information for governance processes.
  • Act as a technical interface between ESA departments supporting EuroQCI (telecom, navigation, security, quantum technologies, ground segment engineering, etc.) and the MAB preparation processes.

    What you offer:

    • BSC or MSC degree in Engineering, Physics, Telecommunications, Quantum Technologies, or related field with 4+ years (MSC) or 7+ years (BSC) of experience in one or more relevant domains:
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to write clear, concise technical documentation.
    • Quantum communication or secure communication systems
    • Optical or satellite communications
    • Space systems engineering

    Desirable

    • Familiarity with ESA or European institutional programs
    • Knowledge of secure communication infrastructures or quantum technologies.
    • Experience with advisory boards, reviews, or technical governance processes.

    Where:

    You will be working within ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s offices in the Netherlands as a contractor for Telespazio Belgium. We don’t expect the employees to be on-site full time however you will still have to relocate to the Netherlands for this position.
