- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Fiber Channel (FC) Storage Administrator with deep expertise in managing and maintaining enterprise-grade Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) and/or Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) storage environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing high-performance, scalable, and resilient SAN infrastructures in support of business-critical applications and workloads.
- Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise storage systems including HDS VSP series and HPE XP class storage arrays.
- Manage and monitor Fiber Channel SAN fabrics using Brocade switches and associated management tools (SANnav, Performance Advisor).
- Provision and allocate storage using best practices for performance, availability, and reliability.
- Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and system lifecycle management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage-related issues in production environments.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for configuration, operations, and disaster recovery.
- Work closely with server, virtualization, and database teams to provision and manage storage requirements.
- Ensure storage systems comply with security policies, audit requirements, and data protection standards.
- Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning efforts.
- Provide off-hours support and participate in on-call rotation as required.
- Lead or contribute to projects involving storage refreshes, migrations, or architectural changes.
- Support object storage environments, including platforms such as Cloudian.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise storage administration.
- Expert-level knowledge of HDS VSP / HPE XP storage arrays (e.g., VSP G/F series, Hitachi Command Suite, HPE XP Performance Advisor).
- Proficiency with Fiber Channel SAN configuration, zoning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with SAN switch administration (Brocade) and related tools (SANnav).
- Solid understanding of storage protocols (FC, iSCSI, FCoE) and RAID technologies.
- Familiarity with VMware, Windows, and Linux storage integration.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation and reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Certifications such as HDS Certified Professional, HPE ASE, or Brocade SAN Specialist.
- Experience with storage virtualization or software-defined storage (SDS) technologies.
- Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud storage environments (e.g., AWS S3, Cloudian Object Storage).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
