A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Strategic Buyer, the position will support the business by managing the supply of materials for transformer production. To achieve this, the role is structured around three core areas: strategic sourcing and supplier management, commercial negotiation and contract execution, and performance and risk management. This focus ensures the development and maintenance of a resilient, cost-effective supply chain that meets business requirements. Given the focus on these areas, the ideal candidate will possess proven experience in procurement, particularly in strategic sourcing and negotiations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- 40% Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Implement commodity strategies and define local/regional material field strategies for non-pooled commodities.
- Analyze local and regional market trends to inform commodity strategy and identify sourcing opportunities.
- Manage relationships with assigned suppliers, aligning with commodity management where applicable, and maintain supplier segmentation.
- Identify stakeholder requirements and support the execution of the sourcing process.
- Contribute to the ecosystem commodity strategy and develop a business listing of preferred suppliers.
- 40% Negotiation & Contract Management
- Plan and lead negotiations for local, regional, or multi-site contracts, covering prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Define awarding strategies and prepare sourcing board approvals in alignment with commodity strategies to enable pooling potential.
- Identify potential contractual items and liaise with strategic commodity management to ensure appropriate contracts are established or updated.
- Drive early procurement/supplier involvement in projects to facilitate cost-out activities.
- 20% Performance, Risk & Process Improvement
- Monitor supplier performance and report findings to relevant stakeholders under the guidance of commodity leadership.
- Generate, document, and implement savings measures, while monitoring and reporting on relevant procurement KPIs.
- Identify procurement risks and opportunities, and implement respective mitigation measures.
- Work with the commodity team to establish and implement process improvements on-site.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Approximately 3 years of professional experience in procurement, including strategic and operational roles.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting advanced international negotiations and managing strategic sourcing processes.
- Acquired Supply Chain Management, Commercial & Analytical Skills, Business Acumen capability
- Advanced proficiency in English is required for communication with international suppliers and teams
