About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Field Service Control Engineer, you will serve as the on-site technical expert for aero-derivative gas turbine control systems, providing commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspection services across customer sites. Acting as the company's technical representative, you will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of gas turbine equipment while delivering exceptional customer support in both onshore and offshore environments.
Working closely with operations, maintenance teams, and customer representatives, you will play a key role in minimizing equipment downtime, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring compliance with Siemens Energy quality and safety standards.
How You'll Make an Impact
• Perform commissioning, preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and emergency call-out services for aero-derivative gas turbine control systems and associated equipment
• Act as the company's on-site technical and administrative representative, ensuring customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded
• Execute all maintenance activities in accordance with Siemens Energy procedures, OEM recommendations, and industry best practices
• Diagnose and resolve complex control system issues with minimal supervision while ensuring safe and cost-effective solutions
• Monitor equipment performance, identify abnormal operating conditions such as excessive vibration or unusual sounds, and implement corrective actions proactively
• Prepare accurate daily service reports, equipment histories, and technical documentation to support maintenance planning and operational efficiency
• Coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring required spare parts, materials, and resources are available to minimize downtime
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals to support troubleshooting and repairs
• Support operations and maintenance teams during periods of increased workload and coordinate equipment release for maintenance activities
• Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, supervisors, and customer representatives throughout project execution
• Promote and enforce Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards while ensuring compliance with work permit systems and site safety procedures
• Participate in safety meetings, identify improvement opportunities, and contribute to maintaining a strong safety culture
What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in gas turbine control systems within the power generation or energy industry
• Extensive experience working on recognized aero-derivative gas turbine product lines
• Strong knowledge of industrial gas turbine operations, engine exchanges, scheduled maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Experience in mechanical systems associated with rotating equipment
• Proven experience working in both onshore and offshore environments
• Strong understanding of rotating equipment packages and gas turbine auxiliary systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and maintenance documentation
• Experience with commissioning, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities
• Knowledge of gas turbine overhauls is considered a strong advantage
