As Lead Engineer E house you are the driving force behind the successful delivery of our electrical projects. You are accountable for delivering the technical solution for each project. This entails ensuring that all engineering and realization activities are completed within the agreed timeline and budget. Your ownership will be essential in guiding the project from the initial engineering phase through to successful completion, meeting both technical requirements and client expectations.
In this position, you will work for the E-house team for data centers, which consists of around 25 engineers. We are looking for an E-house Lead Engineer to fit into this close-knit and driven team. The E-house team belongs to the Data Centre Electrification & Automation department, which manages international multidisciplinary projects. The engineering department consists of about 100 plus engineers divided over 7 different discipline groups.
Your responsibilities:
The E-house Lead Engineer is responsible for overseeing the entire engineering process of modular structure solutions tailored to customer needs. This involves directly managing and supervising both electrical and mechanical engineers, guiding them through all phases of engineering for each project.
The E house Lead Engineer maintains a comprehensive overview to ensure that all designs and disciplines are properly aligned, fulfilling project scope within the agreed timeline and budget. Effective leadership is essential to handle the dynamic environment created by short lead times and high technical demands.
Solutions
Within each project, the E-house Lead Engineer directs the engineering, manufacturing, installation, integration, and commissioning of complete power distribution systems. These systems cover medium and low voltage switchgear, transformers, power distribution units, bus bar systems, digital protection, automation, and monitoring systems, as well as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. All these elements are integrated into modular solutions like E-Houses and Skids, designed to meet the complex requirements of data center environments.
Communications & Stakeholder Management
As the E-house Lead Engineer you coordinate with internal stakeholders such as project managers, procurement, sales, document control, and engineering teams, while maintaining direct contact with clients. Managing site coordination is crucial to project success. The role is based primarily in The Hague, the Netherlands, but includes regular visits to factories, suppliers, and project sites both domestically and internationally. Responsibilities may also include supervising factory testing and participating in customer meetings. We expect a open flexible communication style from our lead engineers.

As an experienced manager, you maintain a clear overview of your team and ongoing projects. You are a good listener, foster trust, and skillfully navigate between people and processes. You combine technical expertise with the ability to maintain structure, overview, and empathy.
Qualifications
  • Possesses 5 to 10 years of experience as a lead engineer on multidisciplinary electrotechnical projects, with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Skilled in developing engineering and execution plans for modular structures, monitoring manufacturing progress, and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Expertise in designing distribution substation layouts, selecting components and cabling, and specifying MV/LV termination kits, earthing, and grounding systems.
  • Demonstrated practical and theoretical knowledge of low and medium voltage switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and relevant calculations (short-circuit, selectivity analysis), with familiarity in standards such as IEC 61439.
  • Preferably an EU national with Dutch language proficiency, able to travel on short notice and in possession of a valid driver’s license.
