As Discipline Lead for SIMOCRANE Remote Control Operations System (RCOS), you'll merge technical expertise with leadership to drive excellence in our international crane automation projects. Your work directly impacts the efficiency and reliability of harbor operations around the world, contributing to global supply chain optimization. You'll lead a specialized team while actively contributing your expertise to complex, global implementations that typically span 1-2 years across the Netherlands, Germany, China, and customer sites worldwide.
What do you have
Leadership: (40%)
- Lead the RCOS team (approximately 9 FTE) with product and project responsibilities.
- Build and maintain the right competences in the team to execute project work.
Allocate resources to projects; identify and mitigate gaps.
- Promote a high-performance culture, open feedback, and eagerness to learn.
- Inspire and motivate team members by setting clear goals and support to achieve them.
- Support in Environmental, Health & Safety activities.
Subject-specific: (60%)
- Act as ‘RCOS software lead’ and provide technical leadership in this area.
- Create and agree on a development schedule and adhere to it.
- Ensure that project deliverables are realized timely and within budget.
- Convert functional design specifications to technical design specifications.
- Ensure a standard way of working across projects.
- Agree with the RCOS product owner and the sales team on standardized solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement by feeding back experience from commissioning activities and customer experience
We are looking for
You possess a curious nature, enjoy independent work, love communication and convey your knowledge to the stakeholders. You like working in an international environment. You take initiative, task management skills are integral to your work ethics.
- (7+) Experience with industrial automation projects, preferably around advanced motion control and process control.
- Experience with Siemens automation products (SIMATIC S7, TIA Portal, WinCC OA preferred); C# knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge of development and testing processes, like V-model.
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, software engineering with a strong affinity for mechanical systems.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, combined with the ability to write clear and concise documentation.
- Result-oriented and an effective communicator, with an open attitude and strong team spirit.
- Business fluent English, ideally you also speak (and write) Dutch.
