As a Junior IT/OT Engineer at Siemens Cranes, you'll be developing your skills within the wide area of networks and IT within the Crane OT landscapes under the guidance of experienced team members. You'll assist in implementing secure solutions while learning about industry standards and best practices. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build foundational knowledge in OT infrastructure technologies as you support the team with network implementation, virtualization, cybersecurity basics, and technical assistance on various projects.
The Cranes team works on exciting projects implementing networks and virtualization technologies within the Crane OT environments that enables diverse systems such as, S7 PLCs, HMI systems, Scada’s and Sensors to function securely, efficient and in reliable manner. You'll learn how these systems work together and gradually take on increasing responsibility in implementation and support of the networks and virtualized solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Network and Cybersecurity:
- Assist in implementing OT/IT network setups for crane automation under supervision
- Learn cybersecurity fundamentals and help maintain basic security protocols
- Support the team during security assessments and system updates
System Integration and Support:
- Learn troubleshooting techniques and provide basic technical support
- Document system configurations and maintain technical records
Project Participation:
- Support on-site commissioning activities alongside experienced engineers
- Help configure and test solutions following established procedures
- Learn about industry and Siemens compliance standards
- Observe and contribute to technological improvement discussions
Training and Collaboration:
- Assist in preparing training materials for customers
- Participate in multi-functional team meetings to gain exposure to project workflows
- Document lessons learned during project execution
This role includes opportunities to join international projects with travel to customer locations worldwide (approximately 10% of your time). You'll typically accompany senior team members to gain hands-on experience during pre-commissioning in China and final implementation at customer sites.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related technical field
- Basic understanding of networking, virtualization concepts and cybersecurity principles
- Interest in industrial control systems and automation technologies
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing environments
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
