We’re expanding our team in The Hague and looking for a Specialist Solution Engineer to help us engineer safer, smarter crane systems.
What you’ll do
As a Solution Engineer, you’ll take part in complex projects involving motion control, machine safety, and automation. You will be responsible for designing, programming, and testing software that ensures safe crane operations. Projects typically last 3–6 months and are executed in close collaboration with our project, lead, and test engineers.
- Design and validate integrated software solutions for crane automation.
- Engineer safe and efficient motion control systems using TIA Portal or similar platforms.
- Collaborate with Project Engineers, Lead Engineers (responsible for safety), and Test Engineers.
- Standardize solutions to improve engineering efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Conduct functional and safety testing; support commissioning on-site globally (2x4 weeks/year).
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in industrial automation or machine engineering.
- Hands-on experience with TIA Portal (or similar automation platforms).
- Understanding of motion control principles and safety systems in machine design.
- Experience with PC programming environments; additional languages (e.g. C++, C#, SQL) are a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to document technical requirements and procedures clearly.
- Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
- Willingness to travel for work (two periods of four weeks per year).
- Possession of a Dutch driver’s license or willingness to obtain one.
