What’s the role?
Within the Process Control and Systems department, the Process Control Engineer is responsible for engineering, assurance, maintenance and supporting the production units with process control applications and control systems in all phases of the lifecycle.
The Process Control and Systems project team is part of process control, instrumentation and digital team. The project team works on delivering capital projects across the Pernis site providing technical assurance on larger process control scope related projects and control system related obsolescence avoidance projects. The Process Control Engineer reports to control and systems project team lead and has no direct reports.
The Process Control Engineer is accountable for:
Provide Project Technical Assurance
Align project scope with stakeholders like asset teams, operations and engineering disciplines
Provide input to design deliverables
Steer contractor to delivery of high-quality documents
Be cost conscious in selecting and documenting decisions
Review design and Ready For Commissioning (RFC) package documents provided by engineering contractor
Participate during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
Actively be involved during the commissioning of projects
Make other site systems ready to receive the project
Work in close collaboration with the control and system asset teams
Act as a credible partner for project managers and discipline engineers
Improve and standardise project execution processes
What we need from you
We are keen to hear from individuals with relevant experience in process automation, process control and software development.
We hope you possess the following skills and competencies:
Bachelor's Degree or master's Degree in Engineering
Demonstrated strong analytical power, communication skills, a systematic approach to problem solving, result oriented and can-do mentality
Ability to work effectively in a diverse team at multiple levels in the organisation
Inherently curious, with an eye for spotting when things are not as they are supposed to be and a drive to get to the bottom of problems
Positive, proactive attitude and a team player
Fluency in English, and willingness to learn Dutch
