Band 6: Permanent, Full Time – 37.5 hours p/w, 8am-4pm Monday-Friday

Serco is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical and associated building services at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. This is a critical role within a 24/7 healthcare environment, ensuring continuity of services and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical and associated building services.
  • Complete Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) in line with statutory and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, to required technical and quality standards.
  • Respond to unplanned and emergency works, prioritising tasks effectively during out-of-hours periods.
  • Provide team leadership and shift coordination when working out of hours.
  • Accurately record works using computerised maintenance and time-and-attendance systems.
  • Communicate professionally with Trust staff, contractors, and Serco colleagues.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent structured training
  • Level 3 City & Guilds or NVQ (including AM2)
  • BS 7671 – 18th Edition
  • Inspection & Testing qualification
  • Proven experience in a similar environment (healthcare desirable)
  • Strong communication and customer-focused approach
