Salary: 13.00 per hour plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Part time 30 hours per week – 9.30am -2.30pm Monday – Friday.

As a Café General Assistant in our Serco Business team, you’ll play a key role in delivering a welcoming and high-quality café experience. You’ll support day-to-day operations, ensuring excellent customer service while helping create a space that colleagues and visitors enjoy.
In this role, you’ll contribute to a positive and engaging environment where your work directly impacts customer satisfaction and the smooth running of the café. From preparing food to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, your efforts will help create a space that people trust and return to — supporting a better everyday experience for the wider community.
What you’ll do as a Café General Assistant
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Support the day-to-day running of the café, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
- Prepare and serve food and beverages, including operating the barista coffee machine
- Serve customers at the counter, process payments, and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across all areas
- Assist with stock control, including deliveries and monthly stock checks
- Follow all health and safety regulations and food safety standards
- Identify strategies to attract and retain customers
- Monitor sales and trends and feedback to Café Supervisor to increase café sales, commercial sales experience would be a benefit.

- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner
- Good understanding of health and safety and food hygiene practices
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks
