Cafe Assistant

Location: Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre, Birmingham, B14 6ER
Salary: £13.45 per hour plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Part time, 20 hours per week working a mixture of earlies, lates and weekends.

As a Cafe Assistant in our Leisure team, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming, safe and enjoyable experience for every customer who visits our café. From preparing food to serving customers with care and pride, your work helps create positive moments every day.

You’ll be part of a close‑knit team whose work touches lives in the community. By delivering great service, maintaining high standards, and supporting your colleagues, you’ll help create a space people enjoy returning to – and a workplace you can feel proud of.

What you’ll do as a Cafe Assistant

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Deliver friendly, professional customer service at all times
  • Prepare, produce and serve food and beverages in line with brand, food safety and hygiene standards
  • Operate tills and handle cash accurately, following agreed procedures
  • Keep service, seating and kitchen areas clean, safe and well presented
  • Support colleagues across the café, including food preparation, pot wash and stock handling
  • Follow all health, safety and hygiene requirements and report any issues promptly
