Band 6: Permanent, Full Time – 37.5 hours p/w, 6-week rotating shift pattern (Shifts will be rotated from 6am-2pm / 2pm -10pm / 10pm-6am)
Serco is seeking an experienced Electrical Shift Technician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical and associated building services at Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. This is a critical role within a 24/7 healthcare environment, ensuring continuity of services and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical and associated building services.
- Complete Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) in line with statutory and contractual requirements.
- Ensure all works are completed safely, to required technical and quality standards.
- Respond to unplanned and emergency works, prioritising tasks effectively during out-of-hours periods.
- Provide team leadership and shift coordination when working out of hours.
- Accurately record works using computerised maintenance and time-and-attendance systems.
- Communicate professionally with Trust staff, contractors, and Serco colleagues.
- You must be prepared to work shifts (including 6am-2pm / 2pm -10pm / 10pm-6am ) and includes one week of night shifts per rotation
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent structured training
- Level 3 City & Guilds or NVQ (including AM2)
- BS 7671 – 18th Edition
- Inspection & Testing qualification
- Proven experience in a similar environment (healthcare desirable)
- Strong communication and customer-focused approach
