Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 per annum, dependant on experience plus excellent benefits

As a Media Tutor in our HMP Fosse Way team, you’ll help people build practical media skills that support their growth and future opportunities. Your work has purpose and creates impactful solutions that make a positive impact on communities.

You’ll guide learners to develop confidence, take pride in their achievements, and build the foundations they need for meaningful employment and a better future.

What you’ll do as a Media Tutor

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Design and deliver educational programmes that align with course aims, reviewing and improving content for quality.
  • Plan engaging lessons using high‑quality materials and resources to optimise learning.
  • Manage all aspects of learner accreditation.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievements, and provide performance reports as required.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with learners to foster a productive learning environment.
  • Support security procedures by carrying out rub‑down searches of prisoners when required.

Does this sound like you?

You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have…

  • A minimum Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF), or an equivalent qualification.
  • A Level 3 qualification in Media or a related subject.
  • Experience in roles requiring strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Recent and relevant teaching experience in your subject area.

Vetting and checks:
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
