Senior Category Buyer (S)

Purpose
- As Senior Category Buyer for Piping Bulks (Piping, Fittings & Flanges), you are responsible for the negotiation and contractualization of long-term agreements with Strategic Partners as identified in the Category strategy, with the main objective to increase SBM competitiveness and security of supply.
Responsibilities
• You support the Category Manager Piping Bulks in the effective management of strategic suppliers. You monitor the vendor's financial data, load level, capacity and investment plans. You perform market analysis.
• You ensure that commercial agreements match projects and operations needs and bring benefits such as simplification, competitive prices, manufacturing slots reservation.
• You embark lessons learnt into vendor commercial improvement monitoring.
• You deliver Frame Agreements as per defined contracting plan on target as defined in the Category Strategy.
• You lead the Supplier qualification activities for the vendors identified as strategic in the category
• You lead drafting of Project specific Pre agreement / MoU / Slot reservation
• You support the negotiation with suppliers for key packages / services, as required, using benchmark and cost breakdown models, bringing TCO parameters into the equation
• You identify risks & opportunities related to the vendor and market (e.g. merging & acquisition)
• You support Project & Operations teams when the relationship with the vendor is at risk (e.g. dispute & claims resolution, manufacturing performance, slot allocation)
Education
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, with affiliation on the technical aspects of the products you will represent.
Experience
• Previous experience in procurement/supply chain management or account management within the oil and gas or in the bulk piping industry
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and market research.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Market knowledge for the targeted products
• Strong Commercial acumen and negotiations skills
• Expertise in Total Cost of Ownership methodology
• Mastery in creating Cost Breakdown models
• Good understanding of the products in your category in liaison with technical stakeholders
• Understanding of the capabilities of the key vendors and their sub-vendors in your category including the manufacturing processes, execution and subcontracting model"
