About the position
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Engineer to join our Corporate IT team. This role is critical in supporting our cloud-first infrastructure strategy and will play a central role in managing, securing, and scaling our AWS environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in AWS services, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation. In addition to maintaining our enterprise cloud infrastructure, you will also support the deployment and optimization of a web application currently under development and hosted entirely in AWS.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS infrastructure to support both internal IT systems and customer-facing applications.
- Collaborate with application development teams to provision environments and support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud services, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
- Develop and enforce AWS security best practices, including IAM policies, VPC configurations, logging, and monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies and regulatory standards through appropriate configuration, patching, and governance.
- Lead cloud cost optimization efforts and monitor usage with tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, or third-party platforms.
- Work closely with IT security to integrate AWS-native security tools such as AWS Config, GuardDuty, Inspector, and Security Hub.
- Maintain documentation for architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Participating in on-call support as needed.
About You
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with at least 3 years of hands-on AWS experience in a production environment.
- Expert-level understanding of core AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Route 53, etc.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in AWS.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (ECS, EKS, Docker).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience supporting a web application architecture in AWS.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and operational mindset.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in Helm for managing deployments.
PREFERRED
- AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect – Professional, DevOps Engineer – Professional).
- Experience with serverless architectures and microservices.
- Familiarity with application-level performance monitoring (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch Metrics).
- Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, CMMC, etc.).

Location
This role can be performed remotely from locations within the UTC-5 to UTC+3 time zones, or preferably in a hybrid capacity from Montevideo or Buenos Aires. While our offices are located in Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Montevideo, North Carolina, and Barcelona, this position will require occasional travel to these locations.
