Controller
Royal IHC
Royal IHC is currently recruiting a Business Controller for our corporate headquarters in Kinderdijk.
As Business Controller you are able to generate reliable financial analyses and report them in a clear way? Then Royal IHC is looking for you! We are currently recruiting a Business Controller.
The business controller is involved in analysing and improving business processes and advising on strategic decisions. You will give advice on the improvements and approach of these processes and (strategic) developments. You use figures to make business processes simpler more efficient and/or more profitable. By doing so you support the Capacity Centers (production departments of IHC) in reporting and control, which is your main task. The roll of Business Controller is a good starting point for a further career in IHC Finance. You will participate in systematic development of Business Control reporting and planning processes together with the Group Control team.
Your key responsibilities as Business Controller:
- Assisting in the development of business plans, monitoring the execution of (strategic) plans (by management reporting), providing assistance for any corrective measures.
- The monthly reporting of adequate (project) management information and periodic reports.
- Providing scenario modelling analyses.
- Developing reports and KPIs to support strategic decision making.
- Assisting with the management and improvement of Royal IHC’s financial performance.
- Providing advice on business proposals and supplying business plans to management.
- Implementing initiatives to improve organisational effectiveness.
- Preparing and advising on investment proposals/business cases.
We are looking for a dynamic and energetic person who is driven by continuous development attitude. You look for opportunities and solutions rather than problems. Relevant work experience in a field of accounting and business control is an asset; however, more than that, we appreciate a positive can-do attitude and an eagerness to learn. As Business Controller you need to have a high interest and motivation to understand the business and to build a bridge between figures and business, to “make figures talk”.
Are you up for a challenge and comfortable working in a fast-paced, international and dynamic environment then you are the person we are looking for.
To be successful in this position you:
- A higher vocational education (HBO) or academic higher education (WO) in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
- At least three years’ experience in finance (accounting or business control).
- Ability to produce financial reports, financial data and analysis, cost calculations and budgets, as well as prepare forecasts, project and risk analysis and financial/KPI reports by combining data from different business areas.
- The ability to identify improvement opportunities and increase operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and verbal.
- A strong understanding of business processes.
Please note that only candidates with valid EU work visa will be considered as viable candidates.
* These requirements give a direction to the profile we are looking. At Royal IHC, we warmly welcome anyone to join us, regardless of their background, disabilities or challenges. For example: research shows that male candidates apply if there is a 60% match and women only when there is a 100% match. Do you not meet all the requirements but do you think that this is the position for you? Then we would like to invite you to apply.
Royal IHC offers you:
- A gross monthly salary between € 4.246,- and € 6.469,- +8% holiday allowance (based on a fulltime working week).
- Good work/life balance with 40 vacation days for full-time employment with the option to buy or sell (additional) leave.
- The possibility to work from home with associated expense allowance and/or to perform the work on the basis of flexible working hours (depending on the position).
- An average salary pension scheme in which matters are properly arranged in the event of accidental death, incapacity for work or unemployment.
- Good disability insurance.
- Participation (on a voluntary basis) in the Social Fund, on the basis of which care and related costs are reimbursed that are not covered by your health insurance.

In 2042 (when we exist 400 years) Royal IHC will be a fully sustainable company with a net-zero portfolio.
Selection process:
After your application, a CV screening will take place first. If your profile aligns sufficiently, a brief telephone intake with the Corporate Recruiter will follow.
