Are you ready to create the maritime future together with our customers? Are you the entrepreneurial business partner for our customers in Latin America (LATAM) that really understands their ambitions, challenges and offers the right solution? Then we might have the perfect challenge for you.

Being at the fore front
As an Area Sales Manager, your top priority will be to develop the market and close deals with customers based in LATAM. At IHC Dredging we aim to deliver a totally integrated solution and we believe that designing, constructing and putting into operation the most efficient dredger is only possible in close collaboration with our customers. Are you the link between customers and IHC's experts?

You sell according to the Royal IHC philosophy and you’re able to let customers pay for the benefit of operating efficiency and sustainable performance. The key to success is in cooperation and collaboration with our customers and as IHC’s Area Sales Manager you must lead the way. You're not out there on your own. Royal IHC has many experts and knowledgeable colleagues. In the region you also find a lot of expertise from your services colleagues and a network of local business partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, planning, and executing the LATAM area sales plan, including related account plans and targets (sales forecast, budget, objectives, sales tactics, etc.). You will liaise with all relevant stakeholders on the plan.
  • The representation, further establishment and positioning of Royal IHC in the region. This means that you are aware of developments and potential investments. You read and interpret market opportunities. Build, maintain and expand a network of (new) in- and external stakeholders/partners and initiate external representation (conferences, seminars etc.) You know where Royal IHC’s representation is required to claim our leading role in the maritime industry.
  • Building strong customer relations. Initiating, maintaining and growing relationships with (potential) accounts, monitoring the customer’s (business) situation, developments and performance. You are the business partner that understand the business of our customers and make their operation flourish with Royal IHC’s integrated vessels, equipment and services.
  • Creating, identifying and proactively acting upon sales leads. You deliver timely high-quality pitches and you coordinate the deal team to make sure you use all the internal available knowledge and input of the proposal and tender team of Royal IHC.
  • The design of the complete customer journey. You know what the touchpoints are during pre-purchase, purchase and post purchase. You use data, marketing, CRM and business insights to reach the highest possible customer satisfaction score. It goes without saying that you’re also present at christening ceremonies (if applicable) and formal handovers of the vessel/equipment. You remain in tune with project managers during project execution, and managing customer relationships and expectations. If problems arise, you know it’s your chance to show that you have the right solution.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Has a broad interest in the shipbuilding, dredging, offshore, and maritime equipment industry.
  • Is committed to building long-term relationships.
  • Willing to travel substantially as the business is in your assigned region.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Able to represent Royal IHC on all levels.
  • Has a keen eye for commercial opportunities and wants to close deals.
  • Experience of complex negotiations and knowledge of managing a deal/contract team.
  • A commercial, proactive and pragmatic approach, with the ability to take the initiative.
  • Working experience selling technical capital goods or equipment, preferably in the maritime industry.

Royal IHC offers you:

  • An environment where success is celebrated, including ringing the bell ceremonies for awarded projects. When can we celebrate your first achievement?
  • 2 dredging directors (standard and custom vessels) who are closely involved in your development and like short lines of communication
  • 40 vacation days for full-time employment with the option to buy or sell (additional) leave.
  • The possibility to work from home with associated expense allowance and/or to perform the work on the basis of flexible working hours.
  • An average salary pension scheme in which matters are properly arranged when the going gets tough.
  • Good disability insurance.
  • Participation (on a voluntary basis) in the Social Fund, on the basis of which care and related costs are reimbursed that are not covered by your health insurance.
  • Discount on VGZ's additional healthcare insurance.
  • A training budget of €1,500 every three years.
  • Unlimited sporting in our own fitness room (in exchange for the sustainable employability day).
  • A profit-sharing scheme.
