Technical Writer

IN SHORT:

YOUR JOB:

As a Technical Writer you will describe the installation, the use, problem solving and maintenance of our products and systems.

You will be part of the project team and be responsible for writing relevant documentation within one or multiple projects. In cooperation with Engineering colleagues you will work on standardizing modules in the manuals.

To be a modern Technical Writer you need to initiate new ways of working and we challenge you to have a critical look at the current processes and tools.

Within this role you will be responsible for;

• Write technical manuals for our products and automation (SCADA)
• Develop modern ways of customer support like e-learning and modular documentation
• Managing the ‘as built’ documentation and records for current projects
• Developing standardized manuals
• Manage product related documentation

The team:

Working in our Product support department will mean a good opportunity to get to know different disciplines within IHC. You will be part of the Project Team and report to the Project Manager for your day to day work. Hierarchically you will report to the Manager Product Support.

Department:

Our department is responsible for supporting portfolio of different products. The activities in the department are varied; from support to the sales department, writing specifications, configuring the software products to supporting the commissioning on board. The department currently consists of 5 people, the majority of whom already have extensive experience with our various products and their applications and are happy to help each other with all challenging projects.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

• You have a higher vocational education (HTS)
• Knowledge of multiple sotware programs, for example Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Visio
• Affinity with automation systems
• You have excellent communications skills in Dutch and English, both verbal and written
• Experience with setting up a modern way of modular documentation e.g. with XAML/DITA and a content management system is a pre
