Job Title: Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Quality / Process Improvement Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate development, management, and improvement of our quality management and control systems and overall process effectiveness and efficiency. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of our quality processes and promoting a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and waste reduction, leveraging lean principles such as Six Sigma and Kaizen.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in implementing process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing both product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate line management in their duties related to quality management, promoting and supporting improvements to systems and processes.
  • Conduct internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with quality standards and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for cost reduction and delivery performance improvement.
  • Initiate and coordinate quality improvement actions, including failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Implement the customer satisfaction process, including data collection and analysis modes.
  • Support risk assessments relating to quality and propose measures to mitigate identified threats.
  • Conduct appraisals and evaluations of quality-related resources assigned to the SHEQ department.

Key Results to be Achieved:

  • Increase adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards through effective implementation and improvement of the QMS.
  • Reduce non-conformities through proactive quality management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Initiate working programme for cost and efficiency improvements leading to substantial improvements of competitiveness.
  • Increase process efficiency by streamlining key workflows, resulting in a substantial reduction in production lead times.
  • Improve customer satisfaction ratings through the implementation of the customer satisfaction process and analysis of feedback data.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in a technical field; Master's degree in quality management is desirable.
  • Over five years' experience in (project) quality management, preferably in a production organization within the shipbuilding industry.
  • Proven experience in quality management, process improvement, and lean methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Experience with change interventions and managing stakeholders in change processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of quality-related and international welding standards as well as shipbuilding class rules is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
