As a Parts, BOM & Configuration Management Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product configurations throughout their lifecycle.

You will ensure parts are clearly identified, track and control configuration changes, and maintain version control to support production, maintenance, and customer needs. By integrating BOM and configuration data into ERP and PLM systems, you’ll enable seamless operations while providing guidance on best practices.

As part of our R&D Engineering team, you will report to the Head of Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Parts identification & accuracy: Ensure all parts are clearly identified with correct part numbers, descriptions, and specifications for accurate ordering.

  • BOM management: Develop, manage, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring accurate materials, components, and supplier details.

  • Configuration control: Implement and maintain configuration management processes, tracking and managing product changes effectively.

  • Version & change management: Ensure the right product configurations are in place for production, maintenance, and customer requirements, including variations and updates.

  • Documentation & traceability: Maintain detailed records of product configurations, including drawings, specifications, and modifications.

  • Production Support: Provide accurate BOM and configuration data to production teams for assembly, maintenance, repairs, and updates.

  • System integration: Ensure BOMs and configuration data are correctly integrated into ERP and PLM systems for seamless operations.

  • Stakeholder guidance: Advise internal teams on best practices for BOM and configuration management.

Requirements

  • BSc/MSc or HBO degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • 2+ years in BOM and configuration management, preferably in a high-tech industry.

  • Strong understanding of parts management, BOM structures, configuration principles, and relevant software tools (ERP, PLM).

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and strong teamwork skills.

  • A proactive team player who can also work independently and communicate effectively across cultures and backgrounds.
