We are looking for an EMC Engineer to join our team in support of ESA’s Power Systems, EMC and Space Environment Support Service.
The position is based on-site at ESTEC’s premises in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.
About the client and location
The European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) is the European Space Agency’s (ESA) base in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. As ESA’s largest test centre, it is responsible for the majority of space technology and spacecraft development through varying phases of production.
Tasks and activities
The scope of work will include:
- Definition and assessment of EMC requirements at both System and Equipment level.
- Electromagnetic and circuital analyses.
- Definition and assessment of EMC test and verification procedures of spacecraft equipment and systems.
- Assessment of EMC test results, EMC non-conformances and Request for Waivers.
- Troubleshooting activities for spacecraft equipment and system exhibiting electromagnetic interference.
- Active participation in Spacecraft or payloads Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR) and Flight Acceptance Reviews (FAR).
Skills and experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- PhD or master’s degree in physics and/or Electrical Engineering, with minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of EMC requirements.
- Expertise in EMC analysis and practical experience in EMC testing.
- Familiarity with both Industrial EMC practices and the European Space Agency review processes.
- Experience in the assessment of EMC test data, specifications and request for Waivers.
- Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
- Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
The following skills and experience would be highly desirable:
- Expertise in harness engineering.
