UX Designer

For an exciting new project within the European Defence domain, we are looking for a UX Designer to work at Starion’s premises in Leiden, Netherlands.
You will be working within a newly formed team of 6 to 7 professionals and together, you will build web applications for real time users who operate in complex and dynamic environments. These applications provide real time authorization for critical administrative processes, allowing the primary work to continue without delay.
About the client and location
STARION Group B.V. has two offices in the Netherlands: Noordwijk and Leiden. The teams support governmental and defence organizations with secure and scalable software solutions.
For this project, you can work remotely 4 days a week, as long as you live in the Netherlands and can be on Leiden’s site at least 1 day/week. During intensive phases, this could increase up to 2 days.
Tasks and activities
The scope of work will include:
- Design and contribute to the development of the web front-end for a specific complex, data driven, web application.
- Interface with the customers and other team members, for an efficient project progression.
- Understand customer requirements and generate solutions both process solutions and software solutions.
Skills and experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- University Degree or equivalent in Software Engineering or other relevant fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in UX/UI design ; ideally under Test Driven Design approach.
- Experience developing applications using frameworks such as Angular, HTML5 and/or CSS ; ideally with Blazor.
- Familiarity with the MVVM design pattern.
- Knowledge of .NET Core/Framework.
- Understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker,
- A first experience and confidence when working in Git context.
- Desire to work both autonomously and as part of a team, in an international multicultural environment.
- Solution oriented mindset, with a customer focused communication skill.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
