Our mission

QuantWare is the world's leading manufacturer of superconducting quantum hardware. As a high growth start-up with a global customer base, our mission is to accelerate the advent of the quantum computer. We push the boundaries of what's possible in our field. We work on making the world’s largest quantum processors, as fast as possible.

At QuantWare, we’re not just producing quantum hardware for the hyperscalers of tomorrow; we’re working on technology that will change the world. To make that ambition a reality, we need exceptional people who drive real impact. That’s where you come in.

Impact of the role

You will lead and coordinate technical work across several research and development projects focussed on developing scalable and high quality quantum devices. (if you’re interested in more details on the projects, please apply and we can discuss!).

What you'll be doing
  • Drive Project Progress

    • Identify and manage the critical path across R&D projects

    • Prioritise and sequence tasks based on impact and dependencies

    • Ensure the team moves forward in a focused and efficient manner

  • Develop and Execute Experimental Strategy

    • Design and plan experiments

      • Define hypotheses and expected outcomes

      • Determine what experiments to run and why

      • Design Hamiltonians for experimental devices

    • Analyze and interpret results

      • Represent findings with appropriate data visualization

      • Interpret results and determine next experimental steps

      • Communicate outcomes and implications to internal stakeholders

  • Coordinate Cross-Functional Efforts

    • Work closely with design, fabrication, and measurement team members

    • Ensure R&D cycle is coherent and efficient

    • Balance scientific rigor with pragmatic progress

    • Maintain alignment with broader project and organizational goals

  • Anticipate and Manage Uncertainty

    • Identify technical risks and bottlenecks early

    • Plan for potential failure modes and contingencies

    • Adapt experimental strategies dynamically based on new information

What we offer

You’ll be part of a high performing team of world-leading experts at the forefront of quantum technology on a mission to change the world. QuantWare offers a fast-paced environment where you can excel and become the best version of yourself, where you can shape and own your role, taking on significant responsibility from day one.

● An excellent monthly salary depending on experience and holiday pay (a bonus of 8% of your annual salary, paid out once a year in May)

● A very solid pension scheme (20% off your annual salary, minus the statutory offset, of which QuantWare contributes 63%). On top of that, we fully pay for your partner’s and orphan’s pension plus disability premium waiver. For a secure future for you and your loved ones.

● We believe in giving and taking ownership, that’s why we let you decide on when and how to get your work done - as long as it gets done (i.e. through an open vacation policy, flexible working hours and hybrid working options).

● For international colleagues we provide support with relocation to the Netherlands, tailored to your personal circumstances (e.g. visa application, travel costs, temporary housing and support in applying for a 30% tax benefit);

● Great extra benefits: the choice between a public transport business card or travel allowance, a development budget based on personal ambitions and need and plenty of social and health initiatives (such as team outings, chair massages and sports classes).

Your profile
  • 4+ years working in experimental physics with superconducting qubits

  • Experience with the R&D full cycle: design → fabrication → measurement

  • hands-on, practical, and focused on getting good results

  • Comfortable taking initiative and guiding others when needed

  • Lucid thinker, good communicator and influencer, pro-active/pragmatic and willing to push for decisions when a direction is needed

If you’re excited about this opportunity and recognise yourself in most of the points above, we’d love to hear from you!
