About Prysmian
Prysmian is a global cabling solutions provider leading the energy transition and digital transformation.
Prysmian is a public company listed on the Italian Stock Exchange, with almost
150 years of experience, over 33,000 employees, 104 plants and 27 R&D centers in over 50 countries.
Everyone at Prysmian has the potential to make their mark; because whatever you do, wherever you are based, you will be part of a company that is helping transform the world around us.

About the Role

We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join Prysmian’s finance team in the Netherlands. You will take ownership of tax compliance and reporting activities for the Dutch operating entities as well as the holding company, and serve as a key liaison between the business, external tax advisors, and the group’s HQ tax department — making this a highly visible role with genuine cross-functional impact for a mid-level professional looking to broaden their experience.

This role sits at the intersection of tax and accounting, requiring someone who is equally comfortable coordinating with external advisors and HQ as they are preparing tax input, managing financial tax reporting, and handling day-to-day operational tax accounting. A hands-on approach and strong accounting foundation are therefore just as important as technical tax knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file Dutch corporate income tax (CIT) returns for both the operating entities and the holding company in collaboration with the external tax advisor, and support the group tax reporting process

  • Take ownership of the accounting activities of the holding entity in close collaboration with the shared service center, covering the preparation of IFRS accounts, month-end close activities, intercompany accounting and ensuring the accuracy of financial records in SAP

  • Manage end-to-end VAT compliance, including periodic VAT returns, intrastat filings, and EU Community sales lists

  • Act as the primary point of contact for external tax advisors, coordinating engagements, managing deliverables, and ensuring quality and timeliness of advice

  • Serve as a key focal point for collaboration with colleagues in the HQ tax department, supporting group-wide tax initiatives and ensuring local compliance aligns with global tax strategy

  • Prepare tax input for financial reporting purposes and manage tax-related entries and postings in SAP

  • Ensure accurate financial tax reporting in line with IFRS requirements

  • Monitor and interpret changes in Dutch and EU tax legislation, assessing the impact on the business and escalating relevant developments to HQ

  • Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transactions, particularly in relation to the holding company structure

  • Liaise with the Dutch Tax Authority (Belastingdienst) on queries, audits, and correspondence

  • Collaborate with accounting, legal, and supply chain teams to ensure tax considerations are embedded in operational decisions

  • Identify and support the implementation of process improvements and tax efficiency opportunities

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of relevant tax experience, either in-house or at a Big 4 / mid-tier advisory firm

  • A solid accounting background and working knowledge of IFRS, with the ability to translate tax positions into financial reporting and manage the related bookings independently

  • Solid knowledge of Dutch corporate tax and VAT regulations; experience with EU VAT rules and holding company structures is a plus

  • Background in or exposure to the manufacturing or industrial sector is advantageous

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax Law, Fiscal Economics, or Accounting (Dutch HBO or WO); a post-master in Dutch tax law (NOB / RB) is a plus

  • Experience working with SAP or a comparable ERP system

  • Comfortable managing external advisor relationships and working effectively with international (HQ) stakeholders

  • Proficiency in English is essential; fluency in Dutch is strongly preferred. Candidates without Dutch language skills are welcome to apply provided they bring demonstrable experience managing tax compliance in a Dutch regulatory environment

  • Strong analytical skills with a practical, hands-on mindset

  • Able to work independently while maintaining close alignment with group tax policy and HQ colleagues
