Junior Robotics Engineer

Prime Vision

Prime Vision

Delft, Netherlands
Posted on Feb 26, 2025

Are you the passionate Robotics Engineer who wants to be part of our Autonomous Sorting team?
Description

We are looking for multiple excellent Robotics Engineers with a strong background in robot navigation, motion planning, and/or control systems. In our Autonomous Sorting Team, we develop custom and solution-tailored algorithms using state-of-the-art motion planning and control theory. Our focus is on delivering high-quality, innovative solutions to meet the needs of our international clients.

Prime Vision has pioneered the Autonomous Sorting concept: parcels are sorted by a fleet of mobile robots. In just a few years, we have evolved from a concept and client simulation to a fully operational sorting system currently deployed at clients in Europe and the USA. With growing customer demand and constant drive for performance improvements, we are expanding our robotics development teams. We are passionate about what we do and are looking for engineers with a similar attitude to support us in creating the right solutions for our global customers.

Your job

Depending on your skills and interests, your focus will be on one or more of the following areas:

Navigation & Motion Planning

  • Developing (multi-agent) motion planning algorithms for single-robot and fleet scenarios.
  • Implementing decision-making systems in complex, multi-agent environments.
  • Developing distributed navigation systems and simulation environments.

Control Systems

  • Designing and implementing custom motion control algorithms (e.g., path tracking/following, formation driving).
  • Creating robust solutions to cutting-edge control and state-estimation challenges.
  • Integrating robot control with peripherals such as (automatic) roller-belts, controllers, or other equipment.

Simulation Environment

  • Develop and Test features in our simulation environment.

In all cases, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and test new software algorithms, as well as improve existing ones to offer clients best-fit solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal development teams to deliver efficient and effective robotics solutions.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for robotic systems.

What we offer

We offer a full-time position in an informal and professional working environment with a lot of room for personal development and many extras:

  • A key position within the Sales, Marketing and Service team.
  • An open and inclusive workspace with colleagues from more than 20 different nationalities.
  • A globally oriented company with an equally global client base.
  • A full range of digital tools will be at your disposal.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Company laptop and mobile phone of choice.
  • Extra perks such as snacks and excellent coffee every day in our cozy Grand Café.
  • Training sessions by a personal trainer in our in-house gym.
  • The possibility to work wherever you think you can work best: the office, at home, in your holiday home (perhaps while enjoying the sun), in a cafe, on the beach, as long as you are productive and have excellent internet connection.
  • A profit-sharing scheme for all employees.
  • The option to purchase additional vacation days on top of the 25 standard holiday allowance.
Qualification & Skills
  • University degree (or equivalent thinking level) in Robotics, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
  • Proven knowledge of robot motion-planning techniques.
  • Solid background in control systems and state-estimation methods.
  • Familiarity with cutting-edge developments in robotics.
  • Excellent skills in C++ and/or Python. Familiarity with ROS, embedded systems, distributed systems, filtering, or similar areas is highly valued.
  • Comfortable using Linux, bash, and version control tools (preferred).
  • Experience in (student) development teams is a plus.
  • Good command of Dutch and English, both verbal and written.
