This role is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and directly reports to the Vice President of International Operations Procurement.

The position:

As Senior Category Lead, Commercial Supply Chain Procurement, you will be in charge of securing efficient and robust category management, both short and long term for our commercial supply chain external activities globally. You will collaborate with our International Operations Commercial Supply Chain team to strategize, implement, and support global sourcing activities, negotiations, and partnerships across the 7 IO regions. Your primary focus will be on indirect procurement within commercial supply chain, logistics, and distribution.

Your key deliverable is to act as a cross-functional strategic link between global/local and internal/external stakeholders in the commercial supply chain space.

You can expect to be involved in the following activities:

  • Lead major negotiations and sourcing events with our key wholesalers & distributors driving margin focus and top line impact.

  • Identify external opportunities and innovation through partners, including sustainability projects, and leverage global negotiation tactics such as portfolio bundling and global representation

  • Drive value beyond savings by providing supply chain procurement subject matter expertise and strategic advice to LoB

  • Exploring and implementing alternative distribution methods (e.g. direct to pharmacy)

  • Acting as cross-functional strategic link between global/local and internal/external stakeholders

  • Manage our strategic partnerships and drive Top to Top mgmt. meetings between our executives and main partners

As you will be working with suppliers and internal stakeholders internationally, you should expect travel to IO markets. This position holds ample opportunities for personal and professional development.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, we expect you to:

  • Hold a master’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, procurement, business, engineering, or any other relevant field

  • Minimum +7 years of work experience within a related field and holistic understanding of the full value chain

  • Experience in a multinational company and pharmaceutical industry is highly valued.

  • Have a proven experience in category management, strategic sourcing, procurement, or similar obtained within an international organization or consulting company

  • Possess strong knowledge about logistics & distribution, particularly in pharma or retail

  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management to achieve followship across functions and geographies

  • Be structured, independent and with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

You must be fluent in English, both written and spoken, and as a person, you possess a strategic mindset and ability to quickly understand different business models and industry dynamics. You can put strategy into action by breaking the bigger picture down into specific supply chain and procurement related decisions and implementable action plans. You are a skilled professional with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of numbers. Last but not least, you enjoy working in a multicultural and high-pace environment and bring a “can-do attitude”, and a healthy sense of humour to your work also when under pressure.
