NIBC Bank is looking for a Senior Model Auditor to join our Internal Audit team!

Job Description:

What will you do?

As a Senior Model Auditor, your primary responsibility will be to conduct internal audits on (credit) risk models. This includes the preparation, execution, reporting, and evaluating the follow-up of audit observations.

You will also engage in conducting other type of internal audits, developing the annual and multi-year audit plans, provide input for quarterly reports to the Managing Board and the Audit Committee and help improving NIBC’s audit methodology. Additionally, you will manage internal stakeholder relationships with senior managers in the risk model areas.

Your team

  • The Internal Audit team supports NIBC in achieving its defined strategic, operational, financial, and compliance objectives, and assists the Managing Board in discharging their governance responsibilities;
  • The purpose of NIBC’s Internal Audit Function is to provide independent, objective assurance designed to add value and improve NIBC’s operations. The mission of Internal Audit is to enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance and insight. Internal Audit helps NIBC accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes;
  • The Head of Internal Audit reports directly to the CEO/Managing Board and the Chair of the Audit Committee/ Audit Committee;
  • The Internal Audit team consists of six members, including the Head of Internal Audit.

What do you bring?

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in conducting risk model audits in the banking industry, particularly for Advanced Internal Rating Based credit risk models for mortgage loans;
  • Interest in conducting internal audits of other risk models (such as economic capital, interest rate risk, stress testing, and IFRS9) and other areas of NIBC;
  • Strong quantitative / analytical skills;
  • Strong communication skills (in English and preferably also in Dutch);
  • Thorough understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and supervisory expectations;
  • Critical attitude and independent view (ability to ask the right questions), though open minded and pragmatic way of working.
