Nearfield Instruments (NFI) is a fast-growing scale-up high-tech company. We design, develop, integrate, market and service advanced metrology machines. Our machines enable our customers - the world’s leading chipmakers – to increase the production yields, and thus, functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics.
Founded in 2016, we bring together the most creative minds (approx. 425 employees) in science and technology and develop a one-of-a-kind, revolutionary high throughput Scanning Probe Microscopy system.

What will you be doing?
As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions. You will work closely with various departments and contribute to the further professionalization of our financial processes.
Your responsibilities include:
Ensuring the timely and correct processing of all financial transactions including reconciliations;
Preparing documents for the monthly closing, including balance reconciliations, provisions, and revenue reports;
Supporting consolidations and the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports;
Providing ad-hoc analyses and supporting cross-functional projects;
Critically assessing financial data and ensuring smooth execution of processes;
Preparing and updating clear, periodic (subsidy) budget reports in collaboration with project managers and other departments;
Identifying and implementing improvements to further optimize financial processes.

Furthermore, you need to recognize yourself in the profile as described below.
A completed HBO/University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar field
Strong technical understanding of both NL GAAP and IFRS
Several years of experience in a similar financial or analytical role;
Excellent Excel skills;
Experience with ERP system in tech driven production environment;
A critical eye, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately;
Ability to work in an international environment, strong communication skills and excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written;
A hands-on mentality with a proactive and problem-solving attitude. You always think a few steps ahead and dare to challenge existing processes to improve them;
You are open to work 5 days in the Rotterdam Office;
You are independent but do not hesitate to ask for help when needed.
