About the job:

We are looking to fill two positions one based in The Hague, Netherlands and another in Mons, Belgium - you will join the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) as a Principal Technician (ICT Systems) within The Command and Control Centre (C2). The C2 Centre is responsible for planning and executing all lifecycle management activities (design, transition and operations) for Joint/Maritime/Land C2 services (including: subject matter expertise; research and development; software engineering; acquisition; operations and maintenance; and, disposal) in the following technical service areas: Land; Maritime; Joint; Special Operations, Logistics, Medical, Military Engineering and Nuclear Command and Control, Military Messaging, Situational Awareness, Operations Planning and Collective Training and Exercise Support.

Join us as a Principal Technician (ICT Systems) and you’ll lead the charge in application deployment, maintenance, and incident resolution for your assigned services. Stay ahead with the latest technical trends, ensure data security, and keep systems reliable. Collaborate across departments to enhance our ICT infrastructure and streamline operations. Plus, take ownership of build and deployment pipelines for maximum efficiency.

**Please note:

  • The Hague, Netherlands location - basic salary is 5,968.29 EURO

  • Mons, Belgium location - basic salary is 5,393.24 EURO

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

  • Higher vocational training in computer science with 3 years of post-related experience, or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years of post-related experience.

  • At least 3 years of experience within a large organization, including:

  • Deployment and maintenance of Windows and Linux systems (e.g., vSphere, Active Directory).

  • Administration of modern information systems, such as relational databases, service-oriented architectures, and web services.

  • Handling 1st/2nd line issues, creating solution entries, and IT service management.

  • Knowledge of interoperability standards, testing methodologies, and operational decision-making systems.

  • Proficiency in technical documentation and contributing to proposals.

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
