About the job:
Based in The Hague, Netherlands the newly created post of Data Management Analyst will join the Chief Information Office (CIO) within the Information Knowledge and Data Management (IKDM) Branch. IKDM lead the development, maintenance and governance of the information, knowledge and data management efforts within the Agency, including implementing the Agency’s Data Management system. This includes full alignment of all Agency related strategies, plans, policies, processes and programmes with the NATO Information Management Authority (NIMA), as required. CIO/IKDM delivers several pivotal information and knowledge sharing tools that foster an environment of responsibly and securely sharing information.
The Data Management Analyst will be responsible for developing, implementing, operating and improving the Agency’s Data Management system; including but not limited to data architecture, data modelling and design; data storage and operations; data security and protection; data integration and interoperability; document and content management; reference and master data; data warehousing and business intelligence; metadata; data quality. Under the direction of the Head Information, Knowledge and Data Management, the responsibilities will also include:
· Documentation: Engages with documenting data sets, processing purposes, and means of processing.
· Data Management and Protection: Leads data management and protection activities, and ensures compliance with personal data protection rules.
· Training and Awareness: Ensures staff managing data are appropriately trained and maintains agency awareness.
· Ethics and Compliance: Applies ethical principles in handling data, focusing on personal or sensitive data.

About you:
You possess the ability to lead, inspire, and effectively engage a diverse and multidisciplinary team with tact, sound judgment, and adaptability. Additionally, your strong awareness, motivational skills, and attentive listening contribute to your capabilities which include:
· Data Architect qualification and experience;
· Experience in the management of large scale Data Protection efforts;
· Experience and knowledge in development of data artefacts, including dashboards, plans, status reports, briefs, etc.;
· Experience and knowledge in briefing senior stakeholders on Data Management, Architecture, Protection and Quality;
· Recognized track record in assessing risk and negotiating with stakeholders, including understanding their needs, problems and requests, and proposing constructive ways ahead;
· Proven ability to communicate effectively in English both in writing and orally with excellent briefing skills to different types of audiences, including authoring high-quality reports and providing briefings to senior stakeholders.
Desirable Experience and Education:
· Education at the Masters Level or extensive relevant professional experience, would be advantageous;
· Experience in NATO or international organization’s Data Governance or Protection work;
· Experience in ICT security and Data Protection;
· Certification in Risk Management is highly desirable; (Management of Risk -MoR\- or similar)
