About the Program

The NCIA internship is a 6-month program based at one of our key hubs in The Netherlands, Belgium or Portugal. Our internship opportunities start from either 1 March or 1 September with the start date being dependent on the timeline to secure the required security clearance to work within the NATO community. During an internship, you will join and support a diverse international team and simultaneously learn from our experts via on-the-job training, working independently on purposeful projects or initiatives during your tenure.

About the Internship

Internship duration: 6 months

Location: The Hague, Netherlands

The Chief Quality Office (CQO) leads the Agency Quality approach and is the governing authority on the Agency’s Quality Management and Risk Management System. The Chief Quality Office leads the development and assurance of the QMS related processes and procedures, ensures independent verification and validation of project, programme and portfolio deliverables and service changes. The office further provides interoperability assurance and exercise support services, and is responsible for Agency reference environment services and support.

To provide an opportunity for a young professional to obtain new knowledge and skills in the areas of service delivery and project management within the unique context of a functional area offering services to business areas, NATO partners (NHQ, ACO and ACT) and external customers (nations) within the context of assurance (product, service, interoperability).

The intern will work as part of the Service Delivery Management team within the Independent Assurance Branch (IAB). Intention is for 80% day-to-day activities and 20% for enhancement activities.

Key Learning Objectives for the intern:

· Learn and execute elements of the Service Delivery Model of NCIA

· Learn and execute element of the Program, Portfolio and Project Management Framework (P3MF).

· Learn and execute element of the Agency’s business intake requirements pertaining the Independent Assurance Branch.

· Learn and execute element of the CQO Services Catalogue in regards to service delivery management.

Proposed day-to-day Activities (80%):

· Assist with the management of the project assurance intake for the branch. a. Administrative responsibilities (tracking, reporting) b. Assessment responsibilities (to be confirmed with new model once created)

· Assist with the monthly and quarterly reporting requirements for Services and Projects. a. Complete required status reports in SNOW and CSLA requirements. b. Complete required updates in SNOW. c. Complete project overview for monthly execution meetings with branch management.

· Assist with the new service requests with CQO in the lead. a. Provide support in the writing of price proposals for annual and ad-hoc funding request.

· Assist with administrative requirements of the branch in regards to service delivery (ECIS spending, travel and meeting coordination). Liaising with management branch.

Propose ad-hoc enhancement activities (20%)

Support in the creation of an an internal tool to assign / track delegated tasks

Support with the creation of a toolkit for PMs (and other stakeholders) in regards to Assurance responsibilities within a project.

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role is:

Portfolio, programme and project support:

Assists with the compilation of portfolio, programme and project management reports. Maintains programme and project files from supplied actual and forecast data.

Service level management:

Monitors and logs the actual service provided, compared to that required by service level agreements.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for our internship program, you will need to meet the following criteria:

· You are a national of a NATO member country

· You are currently studying towards a university-level degree or have recently graduated in the past 12 months

· A thorough knowledge of one of the two NATO languages, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of the other is desirable. Most of the work of the NCI Agency is conducted in the English language.

· Proof of ongoing studies with the dates clearly mentioned if you are still studying

Ø If selected to progress to the first stage evaluation this will consist of a logic, numeracy and behavioral gamification exercises in addition to on-demand video questions aligned to the requirements of the internship

Ø Virtual interviews will take place in the month of April

Ø Tentative offer to be presented to successful candidates in early May

Compensation

Netherlands

You will be compensated at a fixed taxable rate of 1,424.59 EUR per month, based on 38 hours of work per week and for reasonable travel expenses to start on day 1 and to return to your home location once the internship is complete.
