The Senior Principal IT Pillar Specialist is recognized as a specialist in the field of IT Pillar at McDermott. They can anticipate internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues and subsequently recommend the process, product, or service improvements.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Finance, or Management, Required Minimum
- 10+ years of experience in IT supporting engineering applications with 3+ years as a Project Information Manager
- Extensive functional knowledge in the Payroll industry and leadership expertise
- Extensive Project Management experience
- Ability to work as a team member as well as act as a team leader
- Have wide experience with technical tools such as ERP, BI, etc.
- Maintain key competencies associated with the IT function
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
- Must be a finance IT SME in process & technical knowledge of Timekeeping systems, General Accounting, Job Cost Accounting, Sub-ledgers, General Ledger, and Close Cycles (month, quarter year)
- Knowledge of Tax, Treasury, Audit, Financial Reporting, Project Accounting, Billing & Revenue is a plus

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the entire lifecycle of information management processes for projects, from initial estimate to final completion and handover
- Review Invitations to Bid (ITB/ITT) from clients for Information Management requirements and assess risks and opportunities
- Coordinate with business and IT stakeholders in preparing the Information Management / Information & Systems Management Execution Plan for proposals and projects
- Prepare Information Management (IM) estimates covering hardware, resources, and licenses, and control spending within allocated budgets
- Prepare, review, and issue proposal write-ups and IM documents
- Detect and manage project scope changes
- Coordinate project-specific infrastructure setup for construction sites, client resident teams, and joint venture partners in cooperation with Project IT
- Specify and coordinate processes and tools for data collection, validation, consolidation, and handover to the client
- Act as the single point of contact for project management and clients on Information Management matters
- Translate project-specific information requirements into efficient system configurations and user instructions in coordination with execution tool administrators
- Prepare functional specifications and manage the development and implementation of project-specific applications and/or interfaces
- Capture lessons learned and best practices, ensuring they are embedded within the organization
- Initiate and conduct Information Management / Information Systems Management (IM/ISM) audits and peer reviews
- Train and coach personnel for assignments and ongoing development
- Provide input to audits and peer reviews, and undertake additional project audits as required
