The Senior Principal Talent Acquisition Specialist brings deep expertise in Talent Acquisition concepts, theories, and practices, along with a foundational understanding of related disciplines. This role applies industry knowledge to enhance recruiting effectiveness, provide strategic guidance, and influence TA processes and policies.
The position is responsible for identifying and resolving technical, operational, and organizational challenges that impact recruiting effectiveness. The Senior Principal Talent Acquisition Specialist directly influences service levels, quality of hires, and the team’s ability to meet established timelines and performance objectives. Decisions are guided by company policies, business plans, budgets, and resource requirements.

The Senior Principal Talent Acquisition Specialist leads and manages a team of professional Talent Acquisition (TA) employees and is accountable for the overall performance, results, and operational excellence of the TA function. This role also oversees the operations of an internal recruitment agency and is responsible for addressing resource and operational challenges by adapting departmental strategies, priorities, and processes to meet business needs.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of nine (9) years of Talent Acquisition experience required.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of experienced Talent Acquisition professionals.
- Strong understanding of both agency and corporate/internal recruiting models.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit across a broad range of roles and functions.
- Experience supporting national, multi-location recruiting efforts.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to change, and accept constructive feedback.
- High level of discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong initiative, sound judgment, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient with internet-based recruiting tools, including LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and procedures.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Talent Acquisition team delivers exceptional client service and manages full-cycle recruiting activities.
- Participate in and contribute to Talent Acquisition leadership and management initiatives.
- Partner with senior leadership to identify workforce needs and develop effective workforce planning strategies.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of local Talent Acquisition Specialists to achieve consistent, high-quality results.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and feedback sessions to support continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with hiring managers, vendors, community organizations, and internal stakeholders to ensure predictable and successful recruiting outcomes.
- Establish and nurture relationships with educational institutions to strengthen employer branding and attract early-career talent.
- Stay current on recruiting trends, competitor intelligence, and innovative sourcing techniques to advise TA teams and business leaders.
- Ensure the Talent Acquisition team consistently meets or exceeds established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Lead and participate in Talent Acquisition–related projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
- Lead the implementation, enforcement, and monitoring of compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure team members understand their responsibilities and authority related to policy implementation.
- Ensure timely completion of all required training for self and team members.
- Provide strategic oversight and ensure the ongoing success and growth of the external business arm of the internal recruitment agency, including performance, client delivery, and commercialization objectives.
