Job Overview:
The Senior Principal Construction Tech (Ons) completes assignments and directs the work activities of others in the Construction discipline. They can solve unique and complex problems and act as a subject matter expert. The Senior Principal Construction Tech (Ons) can work autonomously within established procedures and practices. The Senior Principal Construction Tech (Ons) can lead others to solve complex problems and use analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions. They directly impact the achievement of customer, operational, or service objectives. This is equivalent as a Chief Field Engineer.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Lead the technological strategy for all construction projects within the organization, ensuring seamless integration of engineering procurement construction and installation (EPCI) processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative construction technologies that optimize project efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of advanced construction software, tools, and equipment to streamline project workflows
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to construction teams, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and regulatory standards
- Conduct regular reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement in construction processes and recommend solutions to enhance operational efficiency
- Manage and coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and technology partners to leverage their expertise and resources for successful project execution
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and emerging trends in EPCI technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on the construction industry
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, technical higher education, or equivalent on-the-job experience
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in the engineering procurement construction and installation (EPCI) industry, with a focus on construction technology
- Proven track record of successfully implementing innovative construction technologies, such as BIM, virtual reality, and IoT, to enhance project outcomes
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and methodologies, including project planning, scheduling, and risk management
- Proficient in utilizing construction software and tools, such as project management platforms, drone technology, and 3D modeling software
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment
- Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to anticipate and address complex construction challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders at all levels, including clients, contractors, and technology partners
- Proven ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously
