ISS is the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague, the Netherlands. It is one of Europe's leading institutes in Development Studies. ISS is part of Erasmus University Rotterdam. Core activities are research, teaching (PhD, MA, and diploma), capacity development, and public debate. Each year, 300 to 400 students from over 60 countries are enrolled in one of the teaching programmes. Students and visitors consider ISS as a 'mini United Nations.' All courses are taught in English.
