Application Procedure

The Audit Committee of the International Criminal Court (“the Court”) has the mandate to assist the Court in meeting States Parties’ demands for transparency and accountability by providing oversight of its management practices in key governance areas, including Ethics; Governance structure; Risk management; Internal control framework; Internal Audit activity; External assurance providers; Management action plans; and Financial statements and public accountability reports.
The Audit Committee is seeking to fill one vacant seat of Independent member, starting on 1st January 2025.
The Audit Committee meets twice a year at the seat of the Court in The Hague, The Netherlands at dates that are decided by the Audit Committee. Membership is on a pro-bono basis and may not be considered as an offer of employment. Travel and accommodation expenses incurred by the members of the Audit Committee are covered from the Audit Committee’s budget. The Committee is composed of five Independent members who may not serve more than two terms, each term of three years.
The Executive Secretary to the Committee on Budget and Finance invites individuals from among nationals of States Parties to the Rome Statute to submit their expression of interest for the Independent member of the Audit Committee. Qualified candidates must demonstrate senior-level management experience in at least three of the following areas: finance and accounting, internal and external auditing, risk management, regulatory compliance, legal, IT and cybersecurity and environmental, social, and governance reporting. Experience working in an international organization is highly desirable. Experienced candidates must be fluent in at least one of the working languages of the Court (English/ French).
The Selection Panel will select the most suitable candidates based on their skills and experience. Interested candidates must submit a detailed CV, including academic background, professional experience, achievements, nationality, current residence, certifications, and professional affiliations, and contact details no later than 08 September 2024. The selected candidate will be subject to a Personnel Security Clearance (PSC) process in accordance with ICC policy. The PSC process will include but will not be limited to, verification of the information provided in the personal history form and a criminal record check.
