Purpose of the Role
The International Baccalaureate (IB) is dedicated to supporting the ongoing development of a global professional learning community of internationally minded teachers, school leaders, and administrators. The Professional Development Delivery (PDD) team manages the planning and delivery of all educator professional learning workshops, training over 60,000 participants per year. The school-requested professional development offering provides schools with greater flexibility by allowing them to request workshops tailored to their teachers’ needs.
The Requested Business Associate Manager leads all activities related to requested workshops, collaborating with IB staff and educating schools about the model. This role serves as the key relationship manager for PDD with groups of schools, associations, and other significant stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in customer relationship and/or professional development business management.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Requested Channel Management:
Oversee the income and expense management of requested workshops for the region, in collaboration with the Event Logistics Manager. Provide regular and accurate reports to the Senior PD Delivery Manager and collaborate on annual budgeting and forecasting. - Day-to-Day Management:
Lead processes for requested events, ensuring products meet schools’ needs. Collect and analyse data to understand training needs, liaise with schools and associations, and oversee event approval and confirmation processes. - Relationship Management:
Act as the primary relationship manager for schools engaging in requested professional development, delivering high levels of customer service. Collaborate with various departments and counterparts in other regions to ensure global consistency and responsiveness. - Reporting:
Provide timely and accurate reporting on all aspects of requested workshops. Monitor KPIs and propose operational adjustments to improve team performance. - System Management:
Ensure the accuracy of requested-related data and reports in Salesforce and manage the Requested Requestor Portal. Support stakeholders with system access and ensure information is up to date on public platforms. - Query Management:
Serve as Tier 2 contact for IB Answers, ensuring service level agreements are met and responding to queries from IB staff and stakeholders. - Staff Management:
Manage and support the day-to-day work of the PD Delivery Coordinator and lead the IPDR process for direct reports. - Support Team Projects:
Support the Senior PD Delivery Manager with global and regional initiatives and provide coverage to other team members as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in customer relationship and/or professional development business management, adult learning.
- Experience in professional development planning and delivery or other educational service delivery.
- Strong understanding of or interest in the international education market.
- Exceptional negotiation and diplomatic skills.
- Geopolitical knowledge of the region, particularly in education.
- Demonstrated experience with financial reporting and budgeting.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Superior organizational and procedural skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRMs, and proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility, patience, and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- English fluency required; fluency in Spanish or French is an asset.
