We are looking for a Manager Lifelong Learning
What will you do?
As Manager Lifelong Learning, you will be responsible for implementing and further developing Hotelschool The Hague’s Lifelong Learning programme. You will identify emerging needs and opportunities in the hospitality and service industries and translate these into relevant educational propositions that expand our portfolio.
You will act as the linking pin between Hotelschool The Hague, the professional field, government agencies and subsidy providers. As an ambassador for Lifelong Learning, you will actively promote our expertise, build relationships with industry partners, public-sector organisations and funding bodies, and develop a strong external network. You understand the different perspectives and language of education, industry and government and can translate these into shared objectives and commercially viable Lifelong Learning programmes and modules.
Hotelschool The Hague will establish a Centre for Teaching and Learning to strengthen educational innovation, professional development and knowledge sharing across the organisation. In your role, you will work closely with this Centre, connecting its educational expertise and innovative practices with the development and delivery of the Lifelong Learning portfolio.
You will advise the Board of Directors, the Management Team and, where appropriate, the Board of Trustees on the strategic development of Lifelong Learning. Internally, you will work closely with the Programme Managers (Bachelors, & Masters ), Team Leads Education, the Centre for Teaching and Learning and other relevant departments, in particular Sales & Industry Relations. This includes coordinating the expertise and staff capacity required to develop and deliver Lifelong Learning activities.
You will also identify funding opportunities and initiate and coordinate subsidy applications, including those offered through Npuls and other relevant funding programmes. Throughout your work, you will connect people, ideas and opportunities, challenge existing assumptions and help establish Lifelong Learning as a sustainable and strategically important part of Hotelschool The Hague.
What will you deliver?
You will develop Lifelong Learning into a visible, relevant and financially sustainable part of Hotelschool The Hague’s educational portfolio. Your key deliverables will include:
A clear strategy and implementation plan for Lifelong Learning, aligned with the strategic ambitions of Hotelschool The Hague;
A market-driven portfolio of relevant and commercially viable Lifelong Learning programmes and modules;
Concrete educational propositions developed in collaboration with industry partners and internal stakeholders;
Effective collaboration with the Centre for Teaching and Learning, ensuring that educational innovation and expertise are embedded in the Lifelong Learning portfolio;
A strong pipeline of potential clients, participants and strategic partners;
Sustainable relationships with the professional field, government agencies and subsidy providers;
Successful subsidy applications, including applications related to Npuls and other relevant funding programmes;
Effective internal coordination of the expertise and staff capacity required to develop and deliver the programmes;
Clear proposals, progress reports and strategic advice for the Board of Directors, Management Team and, where appropriate, the Board of Trustees;
Measurable growth in participation, partnerships, external funding and revenue;
A sustainable organisational and business model for the further development of Lifelong Learning at Hotelschool The Hague.
What will you bring?
You are a strategic and entrepreneurial professional with proven commercial experience and the ability to turn market opportunities into concrete educational initiatives. You have experience in developing attractive propositions, building sustainable client relationships and creating partnerships that deliver value for the professional field, public-sector partners and Hotelschool The Hague.
You are an excellent stakeholder manager who can build productive relationships with industry partners, government agencies and subsidy providers while creating commitment across the organisation. You understand how to balance educational quality, market relevance and commercial viability.
Furthermore, you bring:
Proven experience with Lifelong Learning in higher education, preferably involving the Npuls programme;
Relevant experience in project or programme management within higher education or professional development;
Proven experience in business development, proposition development or a comparable commercial role;
Experience in working with government agencies, funding bodies and subsidy programmes;
The ability to identify developments, trends and learning needs in the market;
A proactive, flexible and solution-oriented approach; you get things done
Strong networking, communication and influencing skills;
The ability to connect different perspectives, interests and organisational cultures;
The confidence to challenge assumptions, push boundaries and act as a constructive devil’s advocate;
The ability to move easily between strategic advice and practical implementation;
A strong affinity with hospitality, educational innovation and professional education.
Excellent command of English & Dutch. Communication regarding subsidies and with governmental institutions is in Dutch.
Remuneration
Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 12 the labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between€ 5,761.91 and € 7534,61 per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.

Additional information
Hotelschool The Hague works with a 40-hour workweek. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible depending on the notice period of the applicant.
An assessment & English language proficiency test may be part of the selection procedure. Upon receiving an offer, a certificate of conduct (VOG) is required.
